The Battleground – Europe and Beyond
The Battleground is a non-profit news startup that counters false narratives and propaganda eroding trust in politics and the media. We focus on Europe and its influences on, and from, the wider world.
Whether it is migration, climate change, populism or globalization, we look behind the news headlines and provide perspective – to give clarity and meaning where there is confusion and conflict.
Ultimately, it is about defending democracy.
The Brussels Review, a unique literary platform founded to fill the void of such publications in Belgium, with Brussels at its heart, the capital of Europe; thus the name.
At TBR, we believe in the power of words and the magic they create when arranged just right. We are a sanctuary for ideas, opinions, and narratives, a place where creativity is celebrated, and diversity is embraced.
Our mission is to provide a platform for voices from all corners of the world. We are particularly committed to promoting non-native English writers and translations, while also welcoming works from English native creators. Our goal is to create a rich tapestry of perspectives, experiences, and expressions that reflect the world’s diversity.
We have a simple rule here at TBR: there are no forbidden words, subjects, or any form of censorship. We welcome all ideas and opinions, as long as they hold literary value. We believe in the freedom of expression and the importance of open dialogue in literature.
TBR will be published quarterly in print
